During the PROCEDE process ejido land is surveyed, zoned, and registered to either an individual ejido member, or to the community as a whole. PROCEDE zones land in one of four categories:
Certified Parcels – Certified Parcels are assigned to individual ejido members for private use and enjoyment. Certified Parcels can be sold and transferred without restrictions within the ejido community. Certified Parcels can also be sold to non-ejido members, including foreigners via Dominio Pleno procedures. Certified Parcels are known as Certificado Parcelarios.
Solares – Solares are urban area parcels assigned to individual ejido members for private use and enjoyment. Unlike Certified Parcels, solares can be sold and transferred to non-ejido members, including foreigners without restrictions. Solares are usually smaller lots located close to schools, doctors, and public services.
Common Use – Land that has been assigned to a group of ejido members, or to the community as a whole.
Private Title – Private Title refers to certified parcels that have been granted a fully transferable title through the Dominio Pleno Process.
