Who's behind Riviera Nayarit ?

FONATUR (Mexico's National Trust Foundation for Tourism Development) is very unique in the travel and tourism industry, and is responsible for planning and developing sustainable tourism mega projects. Each project has two main objectives: develop a new tourist destination and infrastructure while respecting the surrounding natural environment, and to create a local economy that provides employment and sustainability.

FONATUR has earned their stellar reputation by successfully developing some of Mexico's most visited tourist destinations, which include Cancun, Los Cabos, Ixtapa, Loreto, and Huatulco. FONATUR destinations now host more than half of the tourists that visit Mexico, and have helped increased tourism in Mexico by over 600%.

FONATUR's next and most exclusive project, Riviera Nayarit will be developed in three stages: Litibu, El Capomo, and La Penita. Once completed, Riviera Nayarit will host more than one million visitors per year, create over 17,000 jobs, and generate over a billion dollars annually for the local economy.
